It is distinctive with twin grips, spring and gravity operated. Gravity, which is inherent in cabin and passenger weights provide a good portion of gripping force, and thus doesn’t fully depend on spring force.

The Grip went through rigorous tests more than a decade operation with 1200 kgs, payload, on 300 grips operating simultaneously at 16 seconds spacing. Some cosmetic touches after the decade long tests, made it ideally safe and suitable for application on Gondolas and other passenger ropeway installations ever since. It is in use to haul up to 10 passengers under steepest gradient.
